MAC BETH

ADAPTED BY ERICA SHMIDT

Mac Beth, the adaptation by Erica Shmidt, uses text from the original Shakespeare play to contextualize highly publicized incidents of young girls enacting violence on one another. This production, directed by Gigi Juras, wrestles with the flawed representation of women and witches in Shakespeare, love and sanity, adolescent girlhood, and the dynamics of how relationships inform our perceptions of self.
